The resort staff took care of every small detail and need, and made our experience amazing! With no hassle to book a flight, just hours away from Singapore, here’s why you should consider booking it for your next ‘much-needed’ break!

1. The remote ‘Private Beach’ Experience!

If you love a ‘Do Nothing, Chill at the Beach’ kind of holiday, you would not want to go back from this resort. The main beach which is private to the resort, has hammocks lined up all around. The resort has a sea swing few meters from the shore. Close to Segara Beach is a sea hammock in the middle of the water to give you the thrill and the peace you are looking for while lying in the middle of the sea.

You can ask the hotel staff to arrange a special dinner for you at the beach. Segara Beach specifically takes you into a perfect deserted island kind of feel, with seating chairs and a swing and your own private space to chill. On slightly rainy and sunny day , spot a rainbow across the horizon! (At least, we are glad we did 🙂 )

2. The De-stress  Therapy and Activities!

The resort has ample activities you can indulge in to unwind from your crazy routine for some ‘me’-time, ‘you and me’ time or family time. Jet Ski, Kayaking, Paddle boarding etc are available on the main beach.

When we were there , unlimited Kayaking was complimentary for all guests.  They have yoga classes twice a day for you to connect with your soul and be at peace with yourself. Visit the spa for the calming Indonesian massage therapies, but do book in advance 😉 . Awaken all your senses!

Or spend some time with your family in the pool area, recreation area or at the kids garden. Watch a movie under the stars or have a beach side barbeque with live music (happens every Saturday!) .

Or just cycle around the resort and get captivated with all the nature – beaches and the greens. You may opt to go on a heritage tour to a nearby village. What’s more, since the resort is quite remote – far far away from the city, there are countless stars in the sky on a clear night! It’s beautiful! 🙂

3. The Modern Facilities nestled in Nature!

The resort is relatively new, with all luxurious modern facilities and the villas having the most amazing views – with private pool/ balconies with hammocks!

Usually in other resorts around this area which are right in the middle of nature, we have to put on some insect repellent sprays all over us, but this resort has specifically taken care of the comfort of the guests with hi-tech insect repellents in the villas, high frequency sound generators -inaudible to human ear – near the dining area! Just a very well thought design keeping in mind the utmost luxury and relaxation for the guests !

4. The Indonesian Hospitality!

This resort deserves 5-stars for the hospitality and service. Right from picking us up from the ferry terminal to dropping us back, the staff did everything possible to make us comfortable!

Buggies are available on call for going around the resort throughout the day. There are bicycles provided for each guest as well and it’s quite an experience to cycle around beside the sea ❤ . The restaurant staff is accommodating to your needs and there are ample number of options from all cuisines – Indonesian, Western, Indian and so on.

5. The Ease of Getting there!

There are ferry services available from Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal to the Bander Bintan Telani(BBT) Terminal several times of the day. You can choose a time based on your convenience. There are two ferry terminals in Bintan but BBT one is recommended by the hotel. 

The resort is in a remote location in Bintan, part of the Riau Islands(Gunung Kijang) but don’t worry, the resort staff got you covered. Before your trip, drop an email at reservation-bintan@theresidence.com. And they will arrange a complimentary pick up for you. That’s when your delightful experience with the resort starts.

At the time of check in at the hotel, provide them your booking number for the return ticket and they will collect the ticket for you. Yes! No need to queue up for the tickets at the ferry terminal while going back! The ferry takes almost 1+ hours from Singapore and another  1.5 hours approximately from BBT Ferry to the resort.
